Seven Years

This March 28th we celebrated 7 years of marriage together.  We've almost been married as long as we dated before getting married.  And now we have officially been together for half our lives.

While it wasn't a big celebration, it was a celebration.  We celebrated a night out together without distraction.  We celebrated that we love each other more now than ever before and our love continues to grow.  We celebrated that while it is hard to find time for each other in big chunks, we find it in little chunks, an hour, a few minutes even little moments throughout the day.

Our little date to Steel Toe, Spoon River and Dangerous Man was just what we needed.  We felt like a young couple again, even if just for a few hours.  Our culture talks about 7 years marking some sort of time that causes discomfort...feelings of doubt...the seven year itch to move on to something else.  Our seven years has me itching for more.  More of Nate, deeper connection, more love, more moments to share and more laughing, learning and growing together.

Nate's parents sent us this verse for our anniversary this year and it is spot on. "May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other." 1 Thessalonians 3:12
