Golf Shot: 2 years

Just in case someday Griff is a professional and we need to keep track of the evolution of his golf shot for his Nike commercial, here it is....age 2.

Hattie: 3 months!

A few days ago (May 25th to be exact) marks Hattie having been with us for 3 months.  I'm not even going to comment on how fast that time has gone, and how at the same time it feels like she's been with us always (oh, wait, I guess I just did).
As a 3 month old, Hattie is sweeter than ever.  She has started to giggle a little (prompted when she heard me giggle and when Griffin tickled her belly button!), she is much more aware and spending a lot of her time awake and taking it all in.  She still likes her "Deep Blue Sea," but likes to be propped up 'sitting' even more.  She wants in on all the action and is so content to sit and have a conversation with me for an hour (what a girl!).
She is probably about 13 1/2 pounds-ish? She still has blue eyes (very similar in color to Griff's), strawberry blond hair (which is starting to be patchy from some falling out and her head growing so fast!).  We have been experimenting with our newborn cloth diapers while at home and she still spits up just like big brother Griff.  (Thanks Woodbury gene pool:).  She also got the sweat gene from the Engasser gene pool, tough combo on her neck and other crevices that spit up gets stuck in:).
She is starting to be very predictable and regular in her schedule, especially her eating.  She wakes up about 5/6 AM for a snack, and goes right back to sleep only to really wake up around 7:30.  She eats about every three hours (7, 10, 1, 4, 7) and then a final top off at about 8:30.  Her naps are a little less predictable, she goes down pretty well about an hour and a half to two hours after being awake, but usually only sleeps for about 45 minutes.  In the afternoon, she wants to sleep for about 2 hours but she wakes up halfway through (and will happily go back to sleep if I hold her:).
She's usually pretty content, loves to face out now in the baby bjorn and especially loves when big brother Griff plays with her, and boy does he love to teach her things.  "Hattie, Mama's coffee is hot."  "Hattie, this is a car." "Mama, Hattie said, 'eyebrow'!"
Each month we fall deeper and deeper in love with this precious baby girl we have been so blessed to have join our family.

Meme's new house

A month after Hattie was born, we took a family trip to Savannah, GA to my mom's house, which Griffin cleverly named, "Meme's New House".  We had tentatively planned the trip long before, but didn't book anything because we wanted to leave it open in case life with Hattie wasn't ideal to travel.
But, she was great, sleeping like a champ, eating like a champ, so we decided to go before Griff turned two (and therefore only had to buy two tickets and the kiddos would have lapseats).
Since Nate was so busy with work, I actually left early with my mom (so she was the lucky one to get Griff on her lap:).  She was so well prepared it was no big deal.  After many hours of travel, we were finally in Georgia!
The first two days were a little rainy.  But since we were used to cold and snow, we were still able to get outside.
First we went to the Marina.  Griff loves boats so it was perfect.  Though here I think he's looking at a bird or an airplane or something.
I was hanging with Hattie in the gazebo and Meme walked with Griff on the docks.  How cute is this picture?!?

Even though it was raining, it was still beautiful and so refreshing to be outside.

Hattie spent a lot of time hanging and starting to be a little more awake, though here she doesn't seem very happy:).

The next day we went to the Rookery to see the birds.  Pictures don't do it justice.  There were soooo many birds!

A few days later, Dada got there! And gave Griff some golf lessons.
He spent every waking minute at Meme's new house in the cul-du-sac, golfing.
We spent a couple days at Tybee Island Beach.
Griff's favorite things were: chasing seagulls and golfing.  Surprise, Surprise.

Hattie hung out in the shade with whomever was back by the chairs.

And when we weren't at the beach or pool, more golfing:)

Speaking of the pool....we had a blast swimming!

Here we all was a fabulous trip, can't wait to go back....and traveling with kids...tough but not impossible, especially when you have Meme with you.  She was amazing.  We couldn't have done it without her.
And here are some other moments that pretty much capture our trip....

Toddlers and Trains

One of our first outings as a family of four was to the Train Museum at Bandana Square in St. Paul.
Griffin was mesmerized.

It was really fun to do something that Griffin really enjoyed with Nate.  I loved getting to sit back and watch Nate chase Griff around while I just hung out with Hattie.

The play train tables were a little crowded, but it was good practice in sharing.
I could have stayed and looked at looked at the models long after we hit Griff's max.

Some of the models are interactive, well, you can at least push some buttons and things happen.
Our favorite was the roller coaster.

We watched the roller coaster from all angles.

Here we are ...double stroller in tow...officially a family of four!
