Baby Story Time

A fun thing my sister-in-law discovered for her son is Baby Story Time at the Hennepin County Libraries. Griffin and I went with her and Levi a few times last year at the Brookdale Library.  It's a gorgeous new library and the story time and play time that follows is great too.

We've also frequented the story time at Wild Rumpus in Linden Hills on Mondays at 10:30, but it is geared much more toward older kids and it is so packed if you don't get there way early you'll never get a seat.  Plus Griffin is at an age where sitting for a long time is not his cup of tea, so we go more just to see other kids and walk around and look at the birds and ferrets.

The other Hennepin County Libraries also have baby story times, some you have to sign up for and some you can just go.  A great option is the Saturday morning Baby Story Time at the Linden Hills Library.  It's very small but a sweet setting for story and play time.  It is every other month so it starts up again this weekend and we're so excited.  It's one of the fun things we can do that shows dada how Griffin interacts with other kids.

I don't know if it is because of our attendance at story times, or if Griffin is just getting more interested in language and books, but now he will bring a book over to me and actually want to sit down and read it.  over. and over. and over (right now favorites include Moo Baa La La La, Hippos Go Berserk, Curious George, Goodnight Gorilla and Goodnight Moon).  You always hear about how advantageous it is for your child's education to start reading to them at a young age and I'm so excited to already see Griffin's love for books and reading!
