Herby Derby

Last year, as I was acclimating to life with a newborn, I never got my seeds in a row to get my herbs going.  Thankfully my step-mom stole my pots, took them to her house and filled them with awesome herbs and returned them before I even knew they were gone!  We got to enjoy fresh herbs all summer long (they can get really expensive for such a little amount of actual herbage (word?)).

This year, since life is so much easier, busier, more lively with a 1 year old, Nate and I made Saturday morning plans to head to the Mill City Farmer's Market, down by the river and the new Guthrie.  You can read more about it here, and here.

We had yummy breakfast burritos and crunchy donut french toast and then moved on to the produce and plant stands to round up some herbs.

I got a few batches and headed home to plant my herb pots.  Unfortunately I didn't capture immediate before pictures, but in just a few weeks, my basil has already quadrupled in size!

Here I have cilantro, mint, oregano, sage, parsley and more mint.  The only herb starter they were out of was rosemary, so I'll have to go back and get some, because that is one of my favs....
