Griffin's first road trip to Cable, WI was a success. At about 4 months old (this August), we were able to plan our driving time to perfectly coincide with his nap time. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities, so we actually left on a Sunday night after a fun couples shower hosted by my mom for my cousin who will be getting married in this October. We gave him a bath, changed him into his jammies, fed him and put him to bed in his car seat. A few minutes in, he was out like a light and slept like a baby the entire way! We were even able to seamlessly transfer him from his carseat to the pack-n-play when we got there.
The trip was with Nate's family, his parents, sister, brother-in-law, nephew and brother. We went hiking on Telemark Trail, hung out at the lake, spent a day in Bayfield, WI and otherwise just enjoyed the great outdoors and some good BBQ-ing.
Nate's parents and brother couldn't stay the entire week, but it was such a special time to share as a family and we loved spending time especially with our 15 month old nephew, whom Griffin already wants to try to keep with!
Oh and PS-we had to take 2 cars, that's how much stuff we brought! Nate and I played walkie talkie on our phones with Griffin in my car and Cooper in Nates as we caravaned our family to Wisconsin!
